Principal's Bio

I live on a farm outside of Bunceton, with my wonderful family. My husband is a farmer/rancher and has lived here all of his life. He is also a Bunceton Alumni. I have a daughter and a son, which are the light of my life. My daughter is in the 9th grade and my son is in the 5th grade. We enjoyed many activities together such as; showing cattle, 4-H, softball, baseball, basketball, camping, hunting, fishing, skiing, riding trails, gardening, baking, cooking, learning, reading, and exploring. We are proud members of the Clark's Fork Trinity Lutheran Church, Zion Lutheran School, Bunceton Community Betterment Association, Bunceton Lions Club, Zion 4-H, Missouri Cattleman Association, and American Angus Association.

I love snow days and soaking up the sun! My favorite color is yellow. My favorite song is "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" by IZ. My favorite food is peanut butter and pickles. I enjoy lemon water and lavender lemonade. I love smiles.

This is my sixth year in educational leadership. Prior to becoming a principal, I had many leadership experiences including consulting teacher, instructional coach, and organizational leader. I have been in education for 16 years. I began my teaching profession as an Middle School/ High School Agricultural Educator for 4 years, School Counselor K-12 for 4 years, Kindergarten Educator for 2 1/2 years, and School Principal K-12 for 6 1/2 years. The past 13 years I have been at Cooper County R-IV in many roles and have learned so much. Even with these amazing experiences, I will always be a teacher at heart. I have obtained an Associates of Arts Degree from State Fair Community College, Bachelors of Education from University of Central Missouri, Masters of School Administration from William Woods University, Masters of School Counseling from Stephen's College, and an Education Specialist in Administration Degree from William Woods University.

I have a strong passion for developing positive relationships with everyone within the community, working with students as they grow, supporting teachers and staff so that they can reach their greatest potential, strengthening a connection between school and home, and fostering a positive school culture. At our core, we know that the school to home partnership is what allows us to provide an extraordinary school experience for all students.

My educational philosophy is based on uncompromising belief that all students can learn, given a positive learning environment, strong and knowledgably leadership, a committed and focused educational team, an encouraging community, and supportive family. I believe in a strong foundation for education and working hard to get what you want. My mission is to develop a strong foundation for the students, parents, staff, and community through building partnerships. I will work hard to ensure that the standards are being met within each grade level and subject area through standard based grading and learning target objectives. Together as a team we are developing strategies for assessment capable learners through curriculum alignment, individualized student goal setting, and focus. Transparent communication is the key. I believe we need to ensure we give every child the opportunity and tools to succeed in life to become assessment capable learners.

My goal is to continue to provide a supportive climate and culture that is conducive to teaching and learning. By doing so, each individual student and teacher can experience growth to their highest potential. I look forward to interacting with all stakeholders in our school community!
